It seems nowadays that everyone is on a special diet. Some are by choice, and some are due to health concerns. There are cookbooks out there for almost every diet; some are good, and some are not so good. For those on dairy free or gluten free diets, Danielle Cochran, who is an expert on dairy-free and gluten free cooking, and is a professional recipe developer and blogger, has released a beautiful cookbook, Craveworthy Baking: Delicious Dairy-Free and Gluten-Free Cakes, Cookies, Breads, and More, that is excellent. The cookbook includes recipes that are appealing to everyone – not just those on special diets.

When I first opened this cookbook, I couldn’t believe that the recipes were actually for special diets. Most of the recipes include beautiful, professional photographs that are so mouthwatering that anyone, whether on a dairy free or gluten free diet or not, will want to make and devour the treats.

The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions that make it possible for everyone – whether beginning or seasoned bakers – can create picture perfect baked goods. Cochran has also added notes at the beginning of each recipe which helps in successful baking. While there are some ingredients called for in the recipes that I don’t keep on hand, those on special diets will probably be familiar with things like gluten free ingredients and dairy free ingredients and it will be no problem finding them.

All told, this is an excellent cookbook for anyone wanting to bake something good that everyone can enjoy.
